Change begins with one step.
Reaching out for therapy and finding a new provider can feel overwhelming. I applaud you for taking the first step. I have been in private practice for over 20 years and love working with clients of all ages. I specialize in helping people with mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. I have worked with client in various kinds of health settings, i.e. inpatient hospital, dialysis clinics, home health, and individual therapy practice working with clients with multiple sclerosis and other neurological and autoimmune issues. Helping clients navigate a new diagnosis and manage exacerbations of symptoms, process grief, and work towards living their highest quality of life.
I have a nonjudgemental and compassionate approach to therapy, that is trauma informed. I am an active therapist and will use my insights to help you move toward our agreed upon goals. I use an eclectic approach to treatment that includes, psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, ACT therapy and is client centered.
The goal of therapy is to help create awareness and curiosity about your emotions and behavior. Therapy will allow you to identify and process your feelings, and learn new ways of coping. These new skills will help you manage emotional reactions in the moment and allow you to create closer emotional connections.
